Huawei Canada has an immediate permanent opening for a Hardware Insight Coach.

About the team:

The Software Engineering Coach Lab focuses on capability improvements. Undertaking Huawei's trusted change strategy, this lab is responsible for achieving the overall goal of trusted change, and systematically carries out public capacity building and change enablement and management such as trustworthy interpretation, change framework design and guidance, process IT and management systems.

About the job:

  • Responsible for driving technical foresight by leading initiatives on emerging computing architectures that overcome the von Neumann bottleneck. Focus areas include next-generation memory subsystems, advanced packaging technologies, and high-performance interconnects.

  • Responsible for supporting technology evaluation and strategic planning by assessing the value, breakthrough potential, and technical challenges of future computing and hardware innovations. Deliverables include in-depth technical assessments and strategic policy recommendations to guide executive decision-making.

  • Responsible for monitoring global technological trends through active engagement in international conferences, academic publications, and industry exhibitions to stay ahead of key developments in computing technologies.

  • Responsible for facilitating collaboration and knowledge exchange by organizing technical workshops and forums, and maintaining strong partnerships with leading academic and industry stakeholders to drive innovation and joint initiatives.

The base salary for this position ranges from $190,000 to $350,000 depending on education, experience and demonstrated expertise.

Job requirements

About the ideal candidate:

  • Master's degree in Electrical and Computer Science or a closely related field; a Ph.D. is an asset.

  • Demonstrated experience in both academic and industry settings is an asset.

  • Proven ability to identify and analyze trends and emerging technologies in future computing and computing hardware.

  • Strong team collaboration skills and the ability to work independently with a high degree of self-motivation.

  • In-depth understanding of the research ecosystem in North America related to computing and hardware technologies, or established professional networks within relevant academic institutions, research organizations, and industry leaders, are assets.
