Founded in 2012, the Noah’s Ark lab has evolved into a prominent research organization with notable achievements in academia and industry. The lab’s mission focuses on advancing artificial intelligence and related fields to benefit the company and society. Driven by impactful, long-term projects, the aim is to enhance state-of-the-art research while integrating innovations into the company's products and services, including LLMs, RL, NLP, computer vision, AI theory, and Autonomous driving.

About the job

  • Conduct research on AI agents, LLMs, VLMs, code generation, and multimodal AI, with a focus on novel and impactful research problems.

  • Design and develop GUI agents and coding agents for web, mobile, and computer-use environments.

  • Develop and investigate new approaches for SFT, reinforcement learning, agent training, tool use, and function calling.

  • Build research prototypes, datasets, training pipelines, benchmarks, and evaluation frameworks to validate new ideas.

  • Conduct rigorous experiments and analyze results to advance the state of the art.

  • Collaborate with researchers and engineers to translate research ideas into practical systems and technologies.

  • Publish research findings in top-tier conferences and journals and communicate results through technical presentations and publications.

  • Translate research ideas and prototypes into practical, product-ready technologies, working closely with engineering and product teams.

The targeted annual total compensation for this position ranges from $127,000 to $225,000 depending on education, experience, and demonstrated expertise.

Job requirements

About the ideal candidate:

  • A Ph.D. in Computer Science, Electrical and Computer Engineering, Machine Learning, or a related field, or equivalent research experience.

  • Strong background in one or more areas including LLMs, VLMs, multimodal learning, reinforcement learning, generative AI, code generation, AI agents, computer vision, NLP.

  • LLM/VLM SFT, reinforcement learning, RLHF/RLVR, preference optimization, or other post-training techniques.

  • GUI agents, web agents, computer-use agents, or mobile agents.

  • Strong programming and implementation skills, particularly in Python, with hands-on experience using modern deep learning frameworks such as PyTorch.

  • Strong research ability, including problem formulation, algorithm design, experimental evaluation, and technical analysis.

  • Ability to independently identify promising research directions and turn ideas into working prototypes and experimental results.

  • Strong communication and collaboration skills.

  • Publications in venues such as NeurIPS, ICML, ICLR, CVPR, ICCV, ECCV, ACL, EMNLP, AAAI, or related top-tier venues.

  • Agentic systems, tool use, function calling, MCP, or multi-step planning.

  • Code generation, coding agents, program synthesis, or software engineering agents.

  • UI code generation or automated web/application development.

  • Web technologies and browser automation, such as HTML, CSS, JavaScript, DOM, Playwright, or browser APIs.

  • Large-scale data generation, synthetic data, trajectory collection, or agent training.

  • Model distillation, efficient inference, particularly for small/edge models.

  • Experience with distributed training and large-scale GPU systems.
