Huawei Canada has an immediate 12-month contract opening for a Technical Planning Engineer.
About the team:
The Heterogeneous Compiler Lab, led by esteemed technical experts with extensive industry and academic experience, publishes innovative research at leading conferences. Recognized as key contributors to the LLVM Compiler Infrastructure project, this lab excels in developing diversified IP compiler collaborations, focusing on AI, GPU, and CPU architectures. Our efforts include heterogeneous compilation technology and SW-HW co-design, optimizing for AI, graphics, games, and mobile applications while tackling technological challenges through open-source community.
About the job:
- Seek and plan technology innovations in AI storage and emerging storage. You will help influence research and development efforts in future AI architecture, IT infrastructure, storage software stack, future devices.
- Develop insights and thought leadership through in-depth study and analysis, participating industrial and academic events and forums, and participating internal technology and strategy discussions.
- As a key individual contributor, you are responsible for exploring and defining the technology landscape, trends and frontiers that will have significant impact to the industry and Huawei storage’s business in mid-term and long-term.
- Drive technology strategy and technology development charters to contribute to Huawei storage's technology competitiveness and readiness in the future.
- Develop research directions and topics to advance state of art knowledge and insights on subject matters.
Job requirements
About the ideal candidate:
- 6+ years of experience with strong technology curiosity
- A Master’s or Ph.D. degree in Computer Science/Engineering, or a storage related field
- Proficient in studying state-of-the-art research work and developing new ideas
- Deep knowledge of high-performance AI computing microarchitecture, AI acceleration, computer system architecture, enterprise storage
- Driven, passion for technology and innovation, self-starter
