Job description
Huawei Canada has an immediate 12-month contract opening for a Researcher.
About the team:
The Smart Grid Technology Lab’s research focuses on Power electronics, Energy Management Systems and other Smart Grid Technologies, applying the latest technology to the digital power industry. The lab has become a research organization with many significant industry achievements.
About the job:
Developing microgrid including various grid-forming and grid-following inverters and converters.
Work under a supervisor with a team of experts to develop a set of power system and control component models for power system EMT simulation.
Implementing different grid-forming control strategies, such as droop or VSG and improving them.
Implementing different protection strategy for IBRs, such as anti-islanding protection.
Developing protection and control algorithms in C/C++ and python.
Simulating microgrid in EMTP-RV, PLECS, and/or Simulink.
Generating C/C++ code of the simulated model and optimizing it for real-time simulation.
Deploying different communication protocols, such as SV, GOOSE, MBUS, and IOT protocols.
Working with PLC controller to host the developed algorithm.
Converting the developed algorithms in C/C++ and python to .DLL or .EXE files.
