Huawei Canada has an immediate 12-month contract opening for a Researcher.

About the team:

The Smart Grid Technology Lab’s research focuses on Power electronics, Energy Management Systems and other Smart Grid Technologies, applying the latest technology to the digital power industry. The lab has become a research organization with many significant industry achievements.

About the job:

  • Develop and optimize high-efficiency Supercharging Converter systems used in Electric Vehicle charging infrastructure, ensuring performance and high reliability.

  • Create technical specifications and detailed schematics for Supercharging Converter designs.

  • Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams, including hardware, software, and mechanical engineers, to ensure seamless integration and operation of Supercharging Converter systems.

  • Stay up-to-date with emerging technologies in power conversion, battery charging, and renewable energy systems.

  • Participate in industry conferences and seminars to advance knowledge in supercharging technologies.

Job requirements

About the ideal candidate:

  • Ph.D. in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science/Engineering, or a related field, with a strong publication record.

  • Familiarity with embedded systems and firmware development used for power control.

  • Proficiency with circuit design and simulation tools (e.g., MATLAB, PSpice, Simulink, and LTspice).

  • Strong knowledge of Electric Vehicle charging standards (e.g., CCS and CHAdeMO), and supercharging technology.

  • Strong international technological foresight with the ability to analyze and make decisions on cutting-edge technology trends, fostering industry-leading competitiveness.

  • Proven experience in leading new technology development programs and driving innovation.
