About the job:

  • Responsible for providing full administrative support to the HR Manager; conducting exit interviews for Ottawa research center and coordinating the exit process for all workers across the Canada Research Institute (CARI) and tracking attrition statistics.

  • Monthly updating of HC reports for all of CARI.

  • Coordinating and participating in the Ottawa JHSC and assisting HR managers in the management of all JHSC and H&S functions across CARI.

  • Maintaining all electronic employee files and responsible for adhering to file retention policy.

  • Manage HR Team Space, Official Account and HR public email account.

  • Oversee all attendance management functions (collection of data for monthly reporting, tracking and monitoring of all extended approved leaves).

  • Assist in the delivery of weekly “New Hire Welcome” information sessions and responsible for various HR projects, i.e. participation on the Education & Awareness Team, administration of annual award program, responsible for “Take Your Kid To Work” program, etc.

  • Respond to HR general inquiries and provide general ad-hoc support to Ottawa HR team.

Job requirements

About the ideal candidate:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources or a related field.

  • Minimum of 3 years of HR experience - HR Admin, HRPB Assistant or related field.

  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with excellent problem-solving and organizational abilities.

  • General understanding of employment laws and HR policies.

  • High attention to detail and ability to maintain accurate, confidential records.

  • Experience with HR/Payroll databases and advanced excel and PowerPoint skills.

  • Able to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced, people-focused environment.
