KHRONOS Standard Expert Lead

Our team has an immediate permanent opening for a KHRONOS Standard Expert Lead.

Responsibilities:

• Lead the graphics standard team and business vision to define, design and develop enhancements target to future oriented graphics APIs and advance the feature sets of such APIs.
• Propose enhancements to graphics APIs which could improve the runtime performance of applications relying on GPU on Huawei devices.
• You will work with Huawei teams engaging with graphics API standards.
• You will also interface and collaborate with various product teams at Huawei to come up with innovative, clean and maintainable solutions.

The base salary for this position ranges from $190,000 - $350,000 depending on education, experience and demonstrated expertise.

What you’ll bring to the team:

• Master’s degree in Computer Science/Engineering, or equivalent.
• Deep understanding of graphics APIs (Vulkan, OpenGL, webGL, webGPU)
• Proven ability to propose and develop enhancements to a graphics API specification while considering the impact on the larger ecosystem (production, delivery, runtime)
• 3+ yrs of experience in KHRONOS/W3C standard activities including Vulkan, OpenGL, OpenGL|ES, SPIR-V, glTF, webGL, webGPU etc
• Deep understanding and experience in computer graphics
• Technical team leadership experience with ability to lead Huawei’s vision and the graphics standard team
• Awareness of new SOTA technologies such as neural rendering, 3D Gaussian Splatting and their influence on Standard.
• Experienced in parallel/distributed computing technologies.
• Experienced in machine learning technologies.
• Good publication record in top journals and conferences.
• Excellent communication and presentation skills.
