About the team:
The Software-Hardware System Optimization Lab continuously improves the power efficiency and performance of smartphone products through software-hardware systems optimization utilization of AI throughout difference components. We keep tracking the trends of cutting-edge technologies, building the competitive strength of mobile AI, competitive camera Perceptual quality, graphics, multimedia, and software architecture for mobile phone products.
About the job:
- Research and implement algorithms to improve image quality for camera products: Focus on developing and optimizing deep learning-based algorithms to enhance image quality.
- Implement and manipulate existing Large Language Models (LLMs) from open-source platforms: Work with senior researchers to adapt and fine-tune LLMs for imaging-related challenges.
- Study advancements in camera color styles and tone mapping: Stay informed on the latest developments in color science and tone mapping to support innovative research.
- Conduct literature reviews and summarize works related to the field: Review current research, synthesize key findings, and provide insights for the team.
- Participate in research meetings, document ideas, and implement solutions using PyTorch and OpenCV: Contribute to team discussions and apply tools like PyTorch and OpenCV to implement image processing solutions and or fine-tuning of an ISP DNN module.
Job requirements
What you'll bring to the team:
- Enrolled in an undergraduate or MSc program in computer science, computer engineering, or related fields.
- Solid understanding of machine learning, AI, and related concepts.
- Knowledge of statistics, exploratory analysis, and basic image processing tools in OpenCV.
- Strong coding skills in Python, experience with multi-processing, GitHub, and Linux shell scripting.
- Experience with foundation models, LLMs, LMMS, and Hugging Face is a plus.
- Familiarity with low-level image processing techniques such as color coordinates, tone mapping, white balancing, and image quality assessment is a bonus.
- Excellent communication skills, self-motivated, and a creative thinker with strong attention to detail.
