About the Job:
- The Student Researcher Program at Huawei Canada aims to foster academic collaborations with PhD students from leading Canadian universities through AI research initiatives.
- This position provides the opportunity to lead cutting-edge research projects, collaborate closely with Huawei Canada’s researchers and engineers, publish in top-tier AI conferences, and contribute to AI innovations for Huawei’s consumer electronics products, including mobile phones, laptops, smart TVs, smart glasses, etc.
- Collaboration with the candidate’s PhD supervisor is encouraged to support their academic goals and PhD thesis.
- Research topics may include: Multimodal agents for digital automation, Image, and video generation Efficient LLMs and Generative AI.
Job requirements
About the Ideal Candidate
- Currently enrolled in a full-time PhD program in Computer Science, Electrical and Computer Engineering, or a related technical field.
- Proven experience contributing to research communities, including publishing papers in major AI conferences or journals.
- Demonstrated ability to work independently to solve complex technical problems, such as through research projects, open-source contributions, or coding/math competitions.
