Huawei Canada has an immediate 12-month contract opening for a Material Management Specialist.

From Procurement to Finance to IT services and much more, the Quality & Operation Department provides critical support for all of Huawei Canada. About the job:

  • Responsible for the overall management, reconciliation, allocation, audit and coordination of the material, including coordinating, processing, and scheduling disposal of materials.

  • Responsible for performing audits to ensure material not in use are reclaimed and made available for redeployment.

  • Develop and produce meaningful material management reporting for management.

  • Review material management processes and identify high-risk points.

  • Propose additional strategies, mitigations, and testing to achieve material management resilience.

  • Organize and schedule the shipment per customer requirement and ensure all commercial invoices and other customs documentation are accurately completed and submitted to the customs broker.

  • Interact with vendors and work collaboratively to ensure all service expectations are met.

  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Job requirements

About the ideal candidate:

  • Post-Secondary Diploma in Business Administration, or relevant discipline.

  • 2+ years of relevant experience in office/material administration.

  • Excellent knowledge of office/material management procedures and practices.

  • Proficient computer skills with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).

  • Critical thinking and decision-making abilities.

  • Attention to detail and problem-solving skills.

  • Team oriented with the ability to accept responsibility and work with limited supervision, excellent time management, ability to prioritize and attention to detail are required.

  • Resourceful and flexible.
