Job description

Our team has an immediate 12-month contract opening for an Engineer.
Responsibilities:
  • Proactively engage in research activities and identify new opportunities for research in the safety assurance of complex intelligent systems, which include embodied AI systems, robotics and autonomous systems.
  • Present research findings and progress updates to team members and stakeholders; work with cross-functional teams to integrate them into practical applications.
  • Investigate paradigms that can deliver a spectrum of embodied behaviors - from simulated characters to real robots, and from short-horizon, low-level to long-horizon, high-level intelligence.
  • Challenge the status quo, both technical and process.
  • Collaborate with external partners and research institutions to foster innovation and expand the reach of our research.
  • Continuously learn and innovate in the field of intelligent autonomous systems to stay updated with industry trends and advancements.

What you’ll bring to the team:

  • PhD in in Computer Science, Robotics, Artificial Intelligence, relevant technical field.
  • Proficiency in programming languages such as C/C++, Python, or similar.
  • Familiarity with real-time, multi-process, multi-threaded coding, and command line in Linux.
  • Outstanding engineering skills for rapid research prototyping, open-source release, or production development.
  • Excellent knowledge and hands-on experience with ML/DL, LLMs, multimodal foundation models, or large generative models.
  • 2+ years of hands-on experience in R&D of pioneering AI and robotics algorithms, systems.
  • 2+ years of experience in areas like perception, SLAM, decision making, motion planning, and control systems.
  • Ability to cut through ambiguity and follow through to task completion despite roadblocks or distractions.
