About the job:
- Conduct cutting-edge research to develop innovative concepts and solutions across new materials, device-level technologies, passive/active circuits, and system-level architectures for RF/microwave extremely large antenna arrays (ELAA) and large intelligent surface (LIS) systems.
- Design and develop RF/microwave transceiver circuits/modules and EM passive structures, utilizing expertise in EM behavior, integration, packaging, and fabrication to optimize system performance.
- Apply advanced electromagnetic (EM) theory and principles, along with mathematical methods, to perform EM modeling and simulation of large antenna array systems, including advanced concepts in extended near-field region EM beamforming, beam focusing, and wavefront shaping.
- Apply AI/ML-based techniques to the research and development of RF/microwave passive EM structures, active circuits/modules, and component/system modeling, calibration, and compensation techniques.
- Collaborate with the team to conduct field tests and proof-of-concept demonstrations, validating theoretical concepts and ensuring practical, real-world applicability.
- Stay continuously updated on emerging technologies and industry trends, actively contributing to the advancement of cutting-edge RF/microwave architecture and technology research and innovations.
Job requirements
About the ideal candidate:
- PhD, (Post-doctoral is an asset), in Electrical Engineering or a closely related field with a focus on RF/microwave design and electromagnetic (EM) theory.
- Expertise in RF/microwave passive/active circuit design/testing and electromagnetic (EM) theory and principles.
- Expertise or knowledge in AI/ML-based techniques is highly valued and considered an asset.
- Proficiency in design tools such as CST/HFSS, ADS/AWR, OrCAD/Altium, MATLAB/Octave, and Python.
- Strong research background in the related field with a solid publication record in top-tier journals and conferences.
- Highly motivated to learn, research, and contribute to team success, with excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.
