About the job:

  • Perform transmitter/receiver architecture, analysis, specification, design, component selection, simulation, schematic capture and layout support
  • Design up-converter/down-converter, synthesizers, clock distribution and power supply distribution using SMT components and distributed-elements for the RF/microwave subsystems at 28GHz
  • Work closely with system, mechanical, digital/FPGA and symbol/footprint/layout designers to ensure compatibility throughout the design
  • Generate technical documentation and participate in design reviews to ensure quality
  • Perform lab bring-up and in-depth verification of hardware prototypes
  • Actively collaborate with the team to address technical and non-technical issues throughout the development cycle

Job requirements

About the ideal candidate:

  • PhD graduate in Electrical Engineering
  • 8+ years of relevant experience or equivalent combination of education and work experience
  • Experience in designing and testing RF/microwave subsystems using SMT components and distributed elements at 28GHz
  • Proficient knowledge of EM theory
  • Experience with development tools such as CIS/OrCad , HFSS, CST, AWR and 2.5D EM simulator
  • Hands-on debugging experience involving VNA, signal generator, spectrum analyzer, scope, etc.
  • Understanding of all aspects of the hardware development cycle including requirements, architecture, simulation, schematic capture, PCB layout, power/thermal design, signal integrity, verification and manufacturing
  • Knowledge in 4G and 5G radio and/or subsystems architecture, implementation and ecosystem
