Huawei Canada has an immediate 12-month contract opening for a Associate Operations Manager

From Procurement to Finance to IT services and much more, the Quality & Operation Department provides critical support for all of Huawei Canada. About the job:

  • Oversee project operations by coordinating with BU leaders to ensure alignment with project charters, timelines, and deliverables; maintain up-to-date project records from initiation to closure in internal systems.

  • Support the Director and HR Manager in budgeting activities, including preparation, forecasting, execution, and reporting; deliver monthly budget reports and escalate risks or issues to key stakeholders proactively.

  • Act as the central liaison between the Waterloo project team and HQ/PMO office to ensure seamless communication and alignment on project goals and priorities.

  • Develop and manage key operational documents, such as Statements of Work (SOW), resource allocation plans, and meeting minutes; track project milestones and report on variances to support timely execution.

  • Organize and facilitate internal meetings, while ensuring all project documentation is properly maintained and accessible.

  • Provide operational and administrative support, including collaboration with the Executive Assistant on budget oversight and the coordination of team-building initiatives.

  • Lead the planning and execution of the Research Centre’s annual channel content strategy, overseeing content production, tracking progress, and ensuring quality and timely delivery.

Job requirements

About the ideal candidate:

  • Master’s degree in Business Administration, Operations Management, Project Management, or a related field.

  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in operations or project management, with a proven track record of aligning operational activities with organizational strategy.

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook) and operational/project management tools such as Microsoft Project, Asana, or Trello.

  • Excellent communication and coordination skills, with the ability to collaborate across cross-functional and international teams in a dynamic, fast-paced environment.

  • High level of integrity and discretion in handling confidential information; capable of building trusted relationships within a collaborative team culture.

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with a keen attention to detail and solid understanding of operational workflows and project management methodologies (PMP or CAPM certification considered an asset).
