Job description
Our team has an immediate permanent opening for a Payroll Specialist.
Responsibilities:
- Process semi-monthly payroll for 800+ employees in AB, BC, ON, and QC, including salaried employees, expatriate employees, etc.
- Prepare for employees' payroll information collection and approval, including processing expatriates' payroll and tax equalization and coordinating with a third party for expatriates’ tax returns.
- Coordinate with Payroll Share Service Centre (PSSC) and support PSSC by reviewing payroll entries and adjustments to ensure accuracy.
- Process year-end tasks by reviewing reports to verify the accuracy of payroll data. Generate T4 and T4A, RL-1 slips. Prepare annual returns and filings for third parties.
- Reconciliation payroll remittance, the accounts of CRA and Revenue Quebec, employee benefit deductions, and monthly insurance.
- Manage group insurance enrollment and termination and update information as needed.
- Liaising with service providers as necessary for group RRSP contribution.
- Participate in external and internal audit processes, prepare reports and quarterly annual vacation accrual as required.
Job requirements
What you’ll bring to the team:
- Bachelor degree in a Business/Accounting related area.
- 2+ years of experience in payroll and benefits is an asset.
- Certified Payroll Professional designation (PCP/CPM) is an asset.
- Ceridian Dayforce or ADP Workforce experience is an asset.
- Must be able to work in a fast-paced environment.
- Excellent knowledge of MS Office (Excel, Word, Outlook).
- Ability to multi task while adhering to strict timelines.
- Good communication skills.
