Our team has an immediate 12-month contract opening for a Patent Administrator.
Responsibilities:
- Provide administrative and clerical support to the IPR Department
- Support Huawei Canada patent review boards, includes managing disclosure and patent filings, tracking filing deadlines, data entry into Huawei’s patent database, and attending meetings for scheduling and logistics purposes
- Be the interface with outside counsel that handles Huawei Canada patent matters, and support patent related invoice payment
- Generate dockets and other reports from Huawei’s patent database, data entry, and task management
- Prepare and electronic filing of documents at U.S. and Canadian Patent offices if needed
Job requirements
What you'll bring to the team:
At least 3+ years of experience as an Administrative Assistant, law firm or in-house legal department experience is an asset
- Detailed familiarity with U.S. & Canadian Patent Office/ PCT filing practice and procedures is an asset
- Strong knowledge of office procedures and practices
- Attention to detail
- A professional disposition and excellent communication skills
- Proactive in identifying organizational needs, a self-starter, with a desire to work in a fast-paced environment and gain success
- Strong computer literacy including MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint), Outlook and Adobe Acrobat are essential
