About the team:
The Big Data and Intelligence Platform lab is focused on advancing core AI technologies for the Cloud, utilizing large language models (LLMs) to tackle complex real-world challenges across various sectors. Composed of researchers with advanced degrees from top Canadian universities, this lab specializes in integrating LLMs for operations research, analytical databases, and data systems, optimizing efficiency within LLM architectures. This lab prioritizes responsible AI practices, including data watermarking and federated learning. Committed to academic excellence, findings are published in leading conferences, shaping the future of AI technology and contributing to the scientific community.
About the job:
Collaborating with senior researchers to develop AIGC applications on Huawei Ascend AI chips, especially for video generation applications.
Writing well-documented, reusable codes in Python, Pytorch, or other languages as necessary.
Focusing on improving the inference speed of existing AIGC models by implementing various acceleration algorithms.
The target annual compensation (based on 2080 hours per year) ranges from $93,000 to $116,480 depending on education, experience and demonstrated expertise
Job requirements
About the ideal candidate:
Pursing Masters and PhD in computer science, mathematics, statistics or related discipline
Good understanding of image and video processing fundamentals and experience in Computer Vision and/or Computer Graphics
Familiarity with transformer architecture and diffusion models
Strong software development skills and experience in Python programming and hands-on experience with coding in PyTorch
Excellent written and oral communication skills, self-motivated, with creative thinking attentive to details, and always excited to learn new topics and ideas and take risks
