Huawei Canada has an immediate 12-month contract opening for a Human Resources Specialist.

About the job:

  • Responsible for supporting the end-to-end management of HR operation and employee relations matters, and the application of HR policies and collective agreements.

  • Assist in resolving workplace conflicts by conducting initial inquiries, documenting issues, and escalating cases to HR management when necessary. Provide guidance to employees on company policies, fostering a positive and compliant work environment.

  • Maintain accurate employee relations records, including grievances, disciplinary actions, and mediation outcomes. Support HR initiatives by preparing reports, tracking trends, and ensuring adherence to labor laws and company procedures.

  • Work closely with managers and HR Lead to provide guidance, ensure policy consistency, and help maintain a fair, compliant, and respectful work environment.

  • The successful candidate will handle sensitive issues with discretion and contribute to a culture of accountability and transparency.

    The target annual compensation (based on 2080 hours per year) ranges from $48,000 to $94,000 depending on education, experience and demonstrated expertise.

Job requirements

About the ideal candidate:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Industrial Relations, or a related field.

  • Minimum of 3–5 years of HR experience, with a focus on employee relations.

  • Exposure to collective agreement interpretation and support of HR case documentation is an asset.

  • Solid understanding of employment laws, HR policies, and collective agreement administration.

  • Familiarity with best practices in conflict resolution, investigation procedures, and case documentation.
