Our team has an immediate 12-month contract opening for a Department Assistant.

About the job:

  • Provide direct administrative and office management support to the director and managers of the department as directed

  • Prepare travel schedules, book travel arrangements, and make reservations for senior management and occasionally members of their staff

  • Coordinate the logistics of team programs including meetings, seminars, workshops, special projects, and events (including awards, celebrations and social events)

  • Minute taking and tracking meetings resolutions

  • Basic system and document management for procurement projects

  • Complete expense reports, pay invoices, and other related duties

  • Other duties shall be assigned as required

The target annual compensation (based on 2080 hours per year) ranges from $48,000 to $94,000 depending on education, experience and demonstrated expertise.

Job requirements

About the ideal candidate:

  • Post-Secondary Diploma in Business Administration, or relevant discipline

  • Strong knowledge of office procedures and practices

  • Fast learner and keen attention to detail

  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, Word, Excel, Power Point)

  • Resourceful and flexible

  • Strong English communication skills

  • Strong organizational and time management skills and ability to schedule duties/projects (multi-task)

  • Desire to contribute to a team environment
